Peer Educator (Sathiya) Training under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) project in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh

Under the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK), Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) is providing support in eight Adolescents Health Friendly Clinics of community health centers at the block level and one at district hospital through its counselors based at the Community Health Centers (CHC) and the District Hospitals (DHs) in the district of Barwani of Madhya Pradesh.

The Master Trainers through supportive supervision providing support to the trained Sathiya (the name given to Peer Educators in Madhya Pradesh) under the project in the identified villages of the district. They support ASHA in identifying potential proactive Sathiya in their operational areas for six-day of comprehensive training on the programmatic areas under RKSK.  During the training 6 following topics are covered-

• Nutrition
• Sexual reproductive health
• Non-Communicable disease
• Drug Abuse
• Gender-based violence
• Mental Health

From June 23^rd to July 28^th (every Sunday), 10 batches of such training have been completed successfully. In the last quarter, more than 262 Sathiya, 160 ASHA, 09 ASHA Sahyogini and 08 ANM were trained under the initiative.
