With over 25 years of experience, HLFPPT has amassed a wealth of knowledge in RMNCH+A (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child & Adolescent Healthcare), HIV Prevention & Control and Primary Healthcare (including lifestyle diseases and non-communicable diseases).
The Knowledge Management Division has the prime function of capturing, management, and dissemination of this knowledge so as to enable greater efficiency, replication of best practices, and reduce costly rework from project to project.
The division has undertaken ground work for creating a knowledge bank intended to be utilised both for internal learning and growth as well as for sharing with development partners.
The Documentation Centre works with the objective ‘to develop, archive and share HLFPPT’s Projects, Best Practices and Models’. It serves as a focal point for standardisation of programme documentation, facilitating research and publications and to support generation of evidence-based project communication and engaging corporate communication materials.
One of the main outputs of the documentation centre is the release of Samvad, the corporate news bulletin, which features programme updates, case studies and significant events during the year. It is circulated internally as well as externally to all key stakeholders, development partners and to our contemporaries in the development arena.
Given the width and depth of HLFPPT’s experience, there are several models that have been time-tested and have emerged as best practices. The documentation and dissemination of these ‘gold standards’ are key to organisational learning and growth. Case Studies further, augment these learning by providing an insight into the process and analysis of the outcomes.
At KM Division, we support evidence-based reporting and publications.
Recently, an Assessment Report on the ‘Functioning of Sanitary Napkins Production Units (SNPUs) by Panchayati Raj Udyog in Uttar Pradesh’ has been compiled and submitted to UNICEF. Also, the team has undertaken lab testing of sanitary napkins produced by SNPUs and submitted its findings, assessment and suggestions to UNICEF
Earlier, two annual reports for IUCD programme in UP and Assam were submitted to the states NHM. Based on the learning of the AMRIT project, a scale-up guide has been developed and shared with UNICEF. NHSRC (NACO): HLFPPT was invited to contribute to the e-repository on HIV/AIDS hosted by NHSRC under NACO. Project reports, IEC material, innovative audio-video tools were shared from a selection of our intervention in this area. These included Female Condom Programme, Condom Social Marketing Programme, PACT, MSM Programme and Life Skill Education Programme.
A repository has been envisaged to be a readily accessible pool of knowledge that is made available to all members of the HLFPPT family. Thematic Area wise documents have been collected, namely Public Private Partnerships, Social Marketing, Technical Assistance & Training and Research & Knowledge Management.

Most of our endeavours can be categorised under the broader theme of Reproductive and Child Healthcare. In our relentless pursuit of bringing every individual under the ambit of care, we work on a wide area of issues such as HIV Prevention and Control, Family Planning, Maternal and Child Health and Adolescent Health.
We make consistent efforts to bridge the gap of affordability and accessibility by delivering innovative and affordable solutions at both the demand as well as the supply side of the public healthcare spectrum.
Through our strategic partnerships with the central and state governments, government-based organisations, INGOs, international funding agencies and local communities, we are contributing towards the nation’s global commitments towards FP2020, Sustainable Development Goals, Universal Health Coverage, etc.
Our endeavour is to reach out to the ‘last mile’ and take healthcare solutions at the doorstep of the most remote parts of the country. In this we see immense scope to align with the corporate sector under their Corporate Social Responsibility. In fact, we are emerging as a trusted partner, providing end-to-end CSR solutions to leading companies such as Cairn India, Essar Group, Suzlon Energy Ltd, Jindal Steels & Power Ltd and Merck for Mothers among others.
Besides, we place due emphasis on learning from our experiences, analyse ways in which we can further improve and share our expertise with our peers and others.
