In the proud partnership of Alliance India, HLFPPT (Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust), in coordination with Care and Support Centre (CSC) Jalandhar has been running a Campaign “Mask to All” under the Vihaan programme. This campaign is carried out under the guidance of Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS) officials and in close coordination with the ART centre. Under this initiative, fabrics are being mobilized by local donors and Gurudwaras (Sikh place of Worship).
Masks are prepared voluntarily by people living with HIV (PLHIV) community members who had earlier attended the stitching and tailoring course under the CSC programme. Till 20 July 2020, 5350 homemade cloth masks have been distributed to PLHIV community members along with adequate information on COVID-19 prevention measures. Recently, the CSC team requested PACS officials for mobilizing monetary support and as a result, all 13 CSCs have received financial support to run this campaign for people living with HIV. With this support, token remuneration will be given to women volunteers making the mask and free mask outlet will be established at ART centres across Punjab.
