In its quest to take healthcare at the doorstep of every individual of underserved communities, HLFPPT, in collaboration with the Essar Group Foundation, is implementing Mobile Medical Unit programme at Sukma and Dantewada districts in Chhattisgarh.
GOAL OF THE PROGRAMME
The goal of the project is to contribute to improving the integrated comprehensive primary health care services in Chhattisgarh
The Health Van provides free medical consultations and medicines to the residents of 25 villages across Dantewada and Sukma districts of the state. It is equipped with a doctor, a staff nurse and a lab technician, providing promotive, preventive and curative healthcare services through general OPDs. It shall also make patient referrals to the public healthcare system, connecting villagers with the primary and community healthcare centres.
With the above strategies, the programme aims to target primarily the women in reproductive age group, children (0 to 6 years) and adolescent girls. These apart, the secondary target beneficiaries include school children, men in reproductive age group, youth, PRI Members, Health Service Providers, Community leaders, Integrated Child Development Scheme Service providers
The MMU functions 22 days in a month. Besides, Swasthya Mela ( Health Camps) are also conducted.
So far it has reached out to 3,295 people with medical services.
