Mobile Medical unit , West Bengal


Durgapur (Bardhaman district) | Essar Oil | Operational since 2014

The project's objective is to improve the health status of the community in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The project intends to provide accessibility to quality preventive and primitive primary health care service across the target villages; to imbibe positive health seeking behaviour among community members; to establish convergence with the government for referrals, institutional delivery & other administrative support & guidance through a medical van.

The target group includes women, children, adolescent girls and elderly.

DURATION OF THE PROJECT:

PHASE I: April 2014 - March 2015

PHASE II: From April 2015 onwards proposed

The project tends to cover a total population of 17931 in 25 villages.

STRATEGIES:

  • Conducting medical camps through a fabricated medical van at Fixed Service Delivery Point (FSDP).
  • Gathering / Attracting community members through IEC meeting(Canopy, Standees)
  • Convergence with ICDS workers, Panchayat Members, Teachers, Social Worker, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), etc. for conducting IEC Activities
  • Liaison with health stakeholders for referrals and follow-up for the same
