Merrygold Health Network (MGHN)UP

HLFPPT has devised a unique social franchising model under the brand name of Merrygold Health Network. MGHN delivers quality RCH services to urban slums and rural population, especially in low resource setting where public maternal healthcare delivery system are partially impaired and unable to deliver high quality 24 x 7 services to the last mile. We have been implementing the model in Uttar Pradesh since August 2007 in partnership with State Innovations in Family Planning Projects Services Agency (SIFPSA).

Over the years, HLFPPT has created the network across 37 districts of the state. Towards the end of FY 2013-14, this network had expanded to 37 districts with 68 Merrygold Hospitals (L1), 176 Merrysilver Clinics (L2) and 9407 Merrytarang Members (community level volunteers also called L3 who are based at urban slum/village level locations)

These 37 districts include: Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Aligarh, Etah, Kanshiram Nagar (Kasganj), Ballia, Mau, Badaun, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Bahraich, Gonda, Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar (Amethi), Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Moradabad, Siddharth Nagar, Kushinagar, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Farrukhabad, Saharanpur, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Lucknow, Unnao, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Allahabad, Fatehpur

Aim:

  • Set up a Sustainable Network of Social Franchised Clinics to provide Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) services in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
  • To strengthen various components of the existing franchising network, based on the previous learning and reviews conducted by various external agencies, so as to strengthen the network as a sustainable model.
